A tip to see what the toolbar is connected to is whether there is a version number in the toolbar heading or not.. A version number means it is connected to your local EndNote installation. No version number means it is connected to your EndNoteOnline account. Below we outline how to switch the toolbar between these states.. Word>EndNote>Preferences>Application.
